Christie Anderson, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience in crisis intervention, family systems and mental health. She has been a licensed clinician for 16+ years. Her clinical work focuses particularly on people-pleasing behaviors, enmeshed family systems, coercive control, and recovery from emotionally abusive relationships.
Christie is passionate about helping clinicians better understand the relational patterns that contribute to anxiety, trauma responses, and identity struggles in their clients. Her trainings translate complex psychological concepts into practical tools clinicians can immediately apply in their work.
Christie provides engaging, practical continuing education trainings for therapists, social workers, counselors, and behavioral health professionals.

Available Trainings
Supporting Highly Anxious People-Pleasers from Enmeshed Family Systems
This training explores how enmeshed family dynamics contribute to chronic anxiety, over-functioning, and people-pleasing behaviors. Participants learn how these patterns develop, how they present in therapy, and practical strategies for helping clients build boundaries, emotional differentiation, and self-trust.
Foundations of Understanding Toxic Relationships: Trauma, “Power and Clinical Awareness”
This training provides clinicians with a foundational understanding of abusive relationship dynamics, including why clients may remain in harmful relationships, the role of trauma bonds and ambivalence, and how maladaptive coping strategies support survival and control. Participants will explore the cycle of violence, power and control frameworks, the impact of ACEs, and cultural considerations in recognizing abuse. Clinicians will also reflect on their own biases to enhance assessment and engagement, preparing them for more advanced interventions in subsequent trainings.
Recognizing Coercive Control and Psychological Manipulation in Relationships
This training helps clinicians identify the often subtle dynamics of coercive control and emotional manipulation present in many emotionally abusive relationships. Clients seeking support from experiencing “narcissistic” relationship dynamics will present differently than in relationships with physical violence, and this training will address navigating trauma-informed client care across the spectrum of partner violence. Participants will learn how these patterns impact clients, how to recognize clinical red flags, and how to support clients in rebuilding autonomy and safety.
